About the author

Roberta Klarreich is a longtime copy editor for Quanta Magazine. Over 20 years as an editor and proofreader, she has worked with clients such as the Macy Foundation, Yale University Press, the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, and the Frye Art Museum in Seattle. Before becoming a freelance editor, she worked as a production editor in science and reference publishing. She has a master’s degree in classics from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in Latin and English from Brooklyn College.
