About the author

Alex Kontorovich is a professor of mathematics at Rutgers University and the 2020-21 distinguished visiting professor for the public dissemination of mathematics at the National Museum of Mathematics in New York City. He is a Kavli fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the American Mathematical Society, and recipient of the American Mathematical Society’s 2014 Levi L. Conant Prize. He also serves as editor-in-chief of the journal Experimental Mathematics.
